Brisbane-born singer Thelma Plum delivered an electrifying and heartfelt performance, bringing her unique alt-pop sound to an enthusiastic crowd. Her set was a delightful mix of catchy melodies and emotional vulnerability. From the very first note, Plum’s presence on stage was magnetic—beautiful, bubbly, and radiant, with her signature dimples and infectious smile lighting up the venue.
One standout moment came when Plum performed Meredith Brooks' 90s hit “Bitch,” which she recently covered for Triple J’s Like a Version. The singalong that ensued was a testament to her ability to connect with the crowd. Other crowd favourites included “When it Rains it Pours,” a track which draws musical influence from Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”, and the jangly guitars and infectious rhythms were also on full display during the upbeat and fun “Clumsy Love” and “Backseat of My Mind” which had the audience dancing along to its catchy hooks.
The band, with their polished yet edgy alt-pop sound, was in top form throughout the night, complementing Plum’s vocals with skillful performances. Closing the night on a high, Plum ended her set with a powerful rendition of “Better in Blak” a bold and defiant anthem that had the audience fully engaged. All in all, Plum’s show was a triumph, filled with singalong moments, heartfelt performances, and a true connection with her audience.
